Ray is probably my favorite fashion magazine - everything always looks so wearable. April's
Ray has a special on 100 looks focused on 10 big clothing items for spring (with 10 looks based on each item):
- Yurutero Jacket
- Color Bottom
- Tulle Skirt
- Flower-print One-Piece
- White Knit Outer
- Bicolor Tops
- Loose Knit
- Happy Print
- Gingham Check
- Bijoux Tops
1. Yurutero Jacket
I have no idea what "yurutero" means (ゆるテロ) but from the pictures, it looks like just a loose jacket - the whole boyfriend-blazer look. Nice way to balance out a floaty dress, or to dress up denim shorts.
2. Color Bottom
Lots of cute pastels here. A very girly look. Pastels don't work with my skin tone, so I'll probably be giving this one a pass.
3. Tulle Skirt
All different styles and lengths! Love this look; it's very fresh and feminine. Balances out well with a structured jacket or chunky knit on top.
4. Flower-print One-Piece
A perennial spring/summer favorite. The retro prints and cuts for this year are quite nice.
5. White Knit Outer
Definitely need one of these - a chunky, open-weave cardigan in white/ivory/cream is perfect for those days when it's hot outside but cold inside.
6. Bicolor Tops
Once again, lots of retro styling. The contrast-color collars/bows are nice, and of course colorblocking is always popular.
7. Loose Knit
The perfect lighter knit for spring. Wearing a loose-knit sweater over a spaghetti-strap dress or top is a nice and easy way to get an extra season's wear out of something summery.
8. Happy Print
Not so much a fan of the ditsy prints, but that apple. Do want.
9. Gingham check
Yup, perennial staple (although I tend to associate gingham with summer rather than spring). Picnic time!
10. Bijoux Tops
Floaty chiffon with jeweled details - just gorgeous. Unfortunately for me, detailing around the collar/chest area is not very flattering on my body type.
I would seriously wear every look on these pages if I had the body/skin tone to do so!
